Alignment Alternatives
The general creek side determinations
were chosen to minimize the number of tributary stream crossings. In
the middle of reach E-B, four possible alternatives were considered
due to the manhole depths necessary in Alternative One.
• Alternative One followed the typical project design along the
west side. This alternative required extra depth manholes. (Manhole
depths > 40’)
• Alternative Two followed the typical project design along the
east side. However, this alternative encumbered the buildable portions
of five lots.
• Alternative Two-A paralleled alternative two, but moved the
alignment within 25’ of the bank. This alternative saved the buildable
portion of the lots.
• Alternative Three moved the alignment significantly to the east,
and is centered in an existing roadway. This alternative requires the
reconstruction of the roadway and traffic detours due to the manhole
depths. However this alternative eliminates the need for a future street
main.
All alignment alternatives function from an engineering standpoint.
