Description:Winding Walk subdivision, a Shea Homes Development consists of 462 lots of single family residential subdivision, within Cabarrus County and annexed by the City of Concord. Situated on 229 acres of beautiful wooded land located along the southeast side of Harris Road and the north side of Ellenwood Drive this neighborhood. Meandering streams run through the site and will be maintained in their natural state for the enjoyment of the residents along with three (3) parks and an amenities area including a clubhouse and pool. The subdivision is set up in three sections or villages of 60’ wide, 70’ wide and 80’ wide lots. Infrastructure for the subdivision includes twenty (20) streets totaling 25,000 lineal feet. 25,000 lineal feet of water mains and 25,000 lineal feet of sewer trunks were also designed in this project. Road improvements will be made to Harris Road at Winding Walk’s main entrance and in lieu of doing improvements at Ellenwood Road and Winding Walk’s secondary entrance improvements will be provided at Ellenwood Road and Harris Road. Jurisdictional streams and wetland delineations were performed on this site and were incorporated into the design of the subdivision. CESI completed the Sanitary Sewer Collection/Water Distribution for Winding Walk Subdivision. Sanitary sewer collection for the site required connection to existing sanitary sewer facilities at two separate locations. The on site collection system consists of approximately 20,000 lineal feet of 8” gravity sanitary sewer within proposed City of Concord right-of-ways and through easements within areas out side of improved areas (cross-country.)The water distribution system included design of nearly 20,000 lineal feet of 12”, 8”, 6” and 2” water line. The water system was designed in a manner to provide looping capabilities throughout the subdivision by connections to existing water systems at three separate locations.
